Throughout the 2013-2014 school year, Hewes Library will be participating in the National Endowment for the Humanities's Bridging Cultures Muslim Journeys Bookshelf Grant.

Hewes Library, Monmouth College, will host a five-part scholar-led reading and discussion series called Let's Talk About It: Muslim Journeys.  During the series, participants will explore the histories, faith, and cultures of Muslims around the world and within the United States through informed conversations facilitated by a local scholar.

Project Support

The Muslim Journeys project is jointly produced by National Endowment for the Humanities, in cooperation with Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies at George Mason University and American Library Association Public Programs Office.

Support for this program was provided by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York. Additional support for the arts and media components was provided by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art.

Muslim Journeys is a component of NEH’s agency-wide Bridging Cultures initiative, which engages the power of the humanities to promote understanding and mutual respect for people with diverse histories, cultures, and perspectives within the United States and abroad.
