What is Web of Science?

  • A database of scholarly literature citations (see video at right for more details)
  • Indexes scholarly sources across the disciplines: sciences, social sciences, and humanities (not just science!)
  • Allows users to follow citations and discover related research (again, see video at right for more details)

Details:

  • Cover-to-cover indexing of scholarly literature back to 1900 across the world’s highest-quality and most impactful publications
  • Follow citations using "Cited Reference Searching" to discover research connections
  • Full text, when available, may be located using the  find this item button, as well as the Kopernio plug-in
  • Conference proceedings and some books are also indexed
